Let’s see, how should we spend the weekend?
Day 13:
Let’s start with a “brief” drive from Boise, ID, through a bit of Oregon, to Walla Walla, WA, for wine tasting, antipasto platter, brick oven pizza, and chocolate soufflé – YUM!

“Don’t blink, it goes by in a heartbeat.” I often use this phrase when speaking with parents of young children. The time we get to spend with children as they grow and begin seeing the world in new and different ways is one of the greatest joys of being a parent.
Spend 10 days in the car, traveling 6K miles, with someone you love completely, and you’re bound to have some great conversations… and also some agitated times.
Have you ever been to Zion National Park –OMG! We had intended to hike Angels Landing, but 102 smoky degrees changed our mind to a lovely hike through the Narrows – a river through towering cliffs.

Memories and Snapshots
The Journey is full of memories – events, experiences, people, the list is endless. We often memorialize these memories with a snapshot. Snapshots cause memories to come flooding back as if it was yesterday.
Today was almost like going home day. We visited Rocky Mountain National Park. My wife and I met in Colorado and Meg chose to go to school here as well, so it allowed us to visit, revisit, and create new favorite places and friends.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
The quote is attributed to many – pursued by many – and a lot of what The Journey is about.
What 12K mile road trip would be complete without a few dives!
While getting fitted for a Madiera wreck dive in Lake Superior, we heard the rumble of thunder. The storm location and hour drive north of Duluth, MN provided a beautiful day and dive. Vis a bit low due to recent rains, but, extremely enjoyable and we were also able to make some new inquisitive friends – Sculpins – Give your pics the Vivid-Pix Fix!
On the road again: through the State of 10,000 Lakes – up to Voyageurs National Park. As we begin to view a few of our National Parks, we are awed by the variety of these treasures that our forefathers provided to us. Voyageurs: 500 miles of untouched coastline.
Reflectively, we were able to spend the day on and in the water – what a wonderful way to spend the day. Thank you Nancy – Lake Superior Divers Supply & School (https://www.lakesuperiordivers.com/) – your friendly, customer service will not be forgotten. Founded in 1956 by Donald Van Nispen, you continue the legacy of a dive shop that has been around since the beginning of all of us blowing bubbles.
The night provided a bit of adventure, the morning was comprised of a beautiful walk (Rick) / run (Meg) around Brandywine Falls, and the day was full of asphalt.
To complete The National Parks Journey, we must stay on plan:
5:15 wake-up.
6:00 wheels up.
Our memories are the stories of us. They’re the bridge to our past that links us to our grandparents, parents, siblings, children, grandchildren, and friends. Like treasured heirlooms, our memories teach us that the bonds of family and friendship need to be cherished above all else. Sharing those memories enriches our lifeby bringing us closer to our loved ones.
In out last post, we covered some terminology and tips on taking photos in water. In this article, we'll cover camera settings.
It is a hard life, but we took it upon ourselves to take off to a beautiful tropical location so we can help you get great vacation photos.
Our goal is to help you find out which phone or camera is best for your vacation photos, with particular focus on the feature that attracts much of the attention . . . taking them into the water — many without the necessity of additional waterproof protection.
Adventure cameras and cell phones that can go into the water are what drew the attention of the two of us. We both make our livings in jobs that involve cameras in water, so we tackled the challenge of comparing lots of these devices to help you make a more informed choice.
In preparation for the vacation season and summer fun, Vivid-Pix and professional photographer and instructor, Sandy Sondrol, went to a tropical paradise and tested more than a dozen smartphones, camera, and underwater housings to help you get better vacation photos.

For some - including our nation's active duty service members serving abroad or otherwise away from home - this holiday season can be bittersweet.
Part of the joy of the holiday season is gathering the entire family together to share good food, gifts and fond remembrances of the year that is coming to a close.
However, for some - including our nation's active-duty service members serving abroad or otherwise away from home - this season can be bittersweet as there is no guarantee they will be able to spend the holidays with family and friends.
